Jamia SumayyaOverall development of a human being is mainly done through education. Education in its general sense is a form of learning in which the knowledge, skills, values, beliefs and habits of a group of people are transferred from one to the next through storytelling, discussion, teaching, training and research. Education is commonly and formally given through institutions such as schools, colleges and universities. At the time when the Muslim world was in its Golden era, the Western world was steeped into the Dark Ages. Renaissance took the Western world out of the world of ignorance. They then took use of the Muslim world, which in its turn was going into the Dark Ages. From then on, there was no looking back. They went on developing the system of education and today, nevertheless, are the masters in the system of education. They have established institutions throughout the world which impart education right from the primary stage to the higher levels. These institutions have become the need of the Muslims as the Muslims do not have institutions of the same caliber. Although they impart education, they also corrupt the mind of the Muslims. The love of this life and world has got great importance than the love for Allah and hereafter. Some section of the society think that this is modern education and religion is just limited to fasting and praying whereas Islam and religion teach us otherwise. Religious institutions have been given bad names and are seen as a source of business. This type of thought has been invented by the so called modern education. |
